We hear so much about the incoming Divine Feminine energies but what does this mean for contemporary women from all walks of life, and in the various stages of womanhood?

The “Divine Feminine”, “Return of the Feminine”, the Sacred Feminine ” are all metaphors for the return to higher consciousness. We seek balance between the male and female aspects of the Self and when we find that balance we come into our power. The return of the feminine, is not about women ruling society; that would create imbalance. It is about the return to nature, to masculine/feminine aspects in harmony, yin and yang re-united so both hemispheres of the brain are working in balance leading to higher levels of consciousness.

When we take an overview of the changes taking place on a cultural level right across the globe we can begin to see that there is a subtle energy shift, in wake of the GFC, that calls for a slow-down of the galloping pace of life and a move towards co-operative rather than competitive relationships at home, in the business world and in the community.

This is an expression of the Divine Feminine whose values include co-operation, net-working, process-orientated, conservation, and support. The values we have been operating under are competitive, hierarchical, linear, expansion, and dog-eat-dog. The incoming Divine Feminine is ushering in a change in the way that society functions as well as a shift in the way that women perceive themselves and men relate to them.

Women are being called on to acknowledge these powerful energies within themselves and align with the vital primary forces of life that drive both their physical functioning and their psychology.

When a woman is empowered through this alignment she becomes exactly what nature intended her to be: sexy, articulate, intuitive, playful, feeling and healing. As the bearer of children, she carries the baton of life force energy through to the next generation. And because she is compelled to seek compassionate quality connection with those in her intimate circle, she is the connector, creating and re-creating the web of life that sustains us all. Her primary drive is to conserve, nurture maintain and support. With the planet teetering at the brink of exhaustion, it is the feminine principle that is now needed to redress the imbalance and heal.

When, as a woman, you tune into your female biological underpinning, you will learn how to listen to the whisperings of your own truth. You will then be open to the immense source of power that comes from acknowledging and living in alignment with your feminine core.

When, as a man, you understand the essential nature of the woman in your life, you will more easily dovetail into the soft undulations of the feminine psyche whilst retaining, upholding and engaging your own potent masculine spirit.

Many people are talking about the polar shift that is predicted to be happening in 2012. I wrote on this topic in a recent post in my blog. There is a cloud of gloom and doom surrounding the forecast because a number of commentators have interpreted it to mean that the world is coming to an end.

For many, in particular young people, the sense of hopelessness that such a belief incurs not only saps them of their sense of hope for a bright future, but it is also downright damaging. For some, stockpiling and squirreling away for desperate times has become an obsession.

From my understanding of what is going on in the world right now, this polar reversal is one of the most exciting and promising evolutionary shifts that the world has experienced for thousands of years.

In reality what is happening is that the shift represents a turn-around of global direction, not necessarily physically but energetically, from a prevailing masculine energy shaping the views, structures, customs, beliefs and behaviors of the world we live in to a more feminine energy. This shift is fast becoming prevalent and preferred by people at the grassroots level.

At last the balance is being redressed as feminine values are coming into play in the wake of the crumbling of existing patriarchal (masculine) societal structures that have shaped society for thousands of years and culminated in a male-dominated religions, economy, government and health management.

Furthermore, the general populace, more informed than they have ever been in the history of humankind, thanks in large part to the internet, is demanding this softer more female approach.

One example of this is in their choice of health care. People want to be proactive and take responsibility for their own health-care, not just go to a doctor and be directed, through the use of harsh pharmaceuticals and invasive techniques, by an authority outside of themselves.

Since the late 1980’s over 60% of Australian people have exercised their option of choice by selecting Natural Medicine as a preferred treatment strategy. This is compared to a 2% usage rate for natural therapists in the 1960’s.

People are voting with their feet and choosing an inclusive form of health management where they are in a cooperative and collaborative relationship with their therapist.

Other examples of the more inclusive, less directed approach being demanded include the upsurge in networking that is now such a prevalent method of doing business, the vigilant watch over child abuse and pornography, and the Obama-led 180 degree shift in political direction, driven by a significant proportion of the American population, away from war-mongering and power strutting to caring for the nation’s people.

This morning (26th March, 2009) I listened to a program on ABC radio about the influence of the internet in developing new ways of doing business globally.

What was discussed was that at the moment we are not only witness to the collapse of the economy, but a radical disintegration of the existing patriarchal structures. These changes include not only how we do business, but how we live our lives, relate to one another and what dreams and ideals we hold for our future and that of our children.

The feminine values of cooperative co-creating, networking, alliances for group enhancement, nurturing, connection and consideration of the whole, rather than the part, are all expressed in the way the internet functions.

The internet, the unstoppable phenomenon revolutionizing the world, operates as an interconnecting web with no hierarchical, linear structure organizing or controlling its direction. The primary product sold online is information, much of which is shared freely and cooperatively.

Products are commonly not tangible and concrete but involve participation in a ‘resonance’ group of like-minded people forming cells of thought for which membership is paid to enter the network. Alliances are formed between web-site operators that involve cooperative marketing in a win-win strategy that is the antithesis of competitive marketing. And in many cases customers, or members, are consulted about product development so that they not only feel included in the evolution of a product, but ensure a better product through the ‘whole is greater than the sum of the parts’ principle (the old two heads are better than one approach).

All of these strategies are expressions of the feminine value system, biologically inscripted into the female body.

We can no longer sit and watch while women are refused holy orders in the churches, are overlooked in preference to a male elected representation at Governmental levels, and have to cover their bodies and walk behind men in Muslim countries.

We don’t have to fight for our rights – that is the ‘old way’ masculine approach. We just have to believe that as women and the bearers of the feminine essence we must stand firm and hold the place for peace, cooperation and connection in the world.

The planet is groaning under the weight of the old way of doing things. The environment needs nurture and cooperative co-existence, not plunder and collateral damage from war-mongering and power-grabbing.

All these rapid world changes point to the break-down of the old and an emergence of a new way of being. Feminine values are by no means ‘new’ but are at last taking their place on the world stage alongside the existing masculine paradigm to soften, solidify and moderate future directions of the planet.

In the truest sense female and male are now ready to stand together respecting and honouring each other to create wholeness and generate a harmony that has never before been known on the planet. This is the emergence of the New Age of Enlightenment, predicted to occur in 2012, and is heralded by a polar shift in consciousness from the masculine to the feminine polarity.

We live in an era of explosive change encoded in the heavens and foretold in the prophecies of spiritual traditions around the world. A wave of evolution touches all areas of our world and our lives, from climate change and economic freefall to politics, business, medicine, the arts, religion, education and science. This magical moment in Earth’s history is a turning point, a time of shifting consciousness filled with quantum possibilities for transforming our lives and our world.

In an earlier post I spoke about the Feminine Energy Shift currently taking place globally, heralding a transformation from the old patriarchal paradigm to the ‘new’ feminine consciousness.

As above, so below – what is happening at the human level of existence is mirrored at the geo-physical level where change is happening at a disquieting rate.

Scientists have been baffled by the expansion of ice in Antarctica (the South Pole), while the opposite is happening in the Arctic Circle (the North Pole) – ice is retracting fast.

A recent finding by the British Antarctic Survey and the US space agency NASA explains an apparent contradiction between the recent record thaw of ice in the Arctic and an increase in ice around Antarctica during the past 30 years.

The scientists say damage to the ozone layer, which shields the planet from ultraviolet rays, cooled the stratosphere and disrupted wind patterns around Antarctica.

They say that the shift meant winds blew off the continent more often, cooling the sea and creating more ice.

Sea ice around Antarctica has expanded at a rate of around 100,000 square kilometres per decade since the 1970s, and now covers an area of about 19 million square kilometres at its winter maximum, doubling the size of the continent.

By contrast, summer sea ice around the North Pole shrank in 2007 to the smallest since satellite records began in the 1970s.

Symbolically speaking, the South Pole, which classically relates to yin and the feminine polarity, is literally gaining ground, while the yang, male polarity is retracting.

The scientific reason being given is the hole in the ozone layer. While a hole in the protective layer around the planet cools the stratosphere creating new wind currents, it also means an increase in solar energy (sunlight) penetrating the stratosphere and affecting the globe.

In metaphysical terms, an increase in light represents an increase in consciousness coming in to the planet from higher dimensions, bringing change.

Wind, metaphysically, relates to change, and the world is currently experiencing a whirlwind of change on every level, especially change that is aligned with the feminine principle (cool winds coming off the Antarctic continent – the yin pole).

An increase in feminine energy around the globe heralds a radical change in the way that we have been thinking. This shift calls on both males and females to embrace a new world order to replace the old ways, which, clearly, are no longer serving humanity or the planet.

The feminine principle is more about:

• nurturing others rather than focusing singularly on one’s own needs (e.g. questioning corporate high flyers taking the cream off the top and calling for equality in wealth-sharing),
• connecting and networking with others rather than competing against others (NB. the power of the internet to connect people),
• conserving resources rather than expending them (the environmental duty of care as opposed to mindless plundering of planetary resources)
• a desire to move towards peaceful global co-existence rather than war and destruction instigated by wealthier nations flexing their power hungry muscles and territorial skirmishes.

"This new research helps us solve some of the puzzle of why sea ice is shrinking in some areas and growing in others," says John Turner of BAS and lead author of the report, which appears in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

So too, does a thoughtful recognition of how geo-physical changes are a distinct parallel with consciousness changes currently sweeping the planet.

Let’s welcome the change with joy and celebration, supporting the new paradigm in our everyday lives by embracing the feminine, softer side within us all, whether we are male or female.

2009 is going to be an exciting year with more of the rapid changes that we experienced in 2008 occurring at the planetary level as we swing closer to 2012.

According to experts in the fields of astrology, astronomy, geophysics, and Mayan calender predictions, 2012 is the year that humanity, along with the planet and the solar system and beyond, steps into a New Age of peace, wonder, miracles and awe as the evolutionary shift takes effect.

This is the age when the Feminine Principle comes into ascendancy.

We are currently in transition leading up to 2012, hence all the changes that are happening with such rapidity on a global level. These changes are occurring on every level of existence driven by an evolutionary step up in consciousness, from the energy of the number 1 into that of number 2, according to numerology.

As human beings, on the global level we are becoming more conscious every day, and as a consequence, the old world-view which supported war and aggression, economic inequality, plundering of planetary resources and fear-based government, is losing its popularity and falling away as the resonance changes.

People no longer will put up with these grievous errors in perception, such as the atrocities occurring in the Gaza Strip, and the massive payouts that the big corporate boys at the top are giving their mates at the expense of shareholder. Instead they are demanding openness, compassion, equality, peaceful co-existence and dignified respect for the life process at whatever level of being. This is the energy of the Feminine Principle.

Recently I blogged about a call from a midwife, who is working at the coalface in a big hospital in one of the capital cities in Australia, for women to actively engage in the process of growing their awareness of the birthing process. She highlights the extreme ignorance of many of the women who come into the hospital to have their babies. These women unwittingly pass their lack of awareness along to their children by way of imprinting birth trauma that persists for the life-time of the child.

Aware mothers give birth to aware babies that grow to be conscious adults.

Conscious adults shape the society they are living in for the better.

As women we need to be at the forefront of consciousness change because we are so intimately connected to the next generation and how it creates its own future.

As aware women, we need to help our less conscious sisters to recognise the vital importance of their role as mothers and care-givers in shaping the world of the future.

Many women have told me how much my book has helped them to recognise this role in raising the consciousness of themselves and the planet.

Please pass my book on to your sisters, your friends, your daughters, and your grand-daughters. It’s about handing on the good news so that the whole of humanity can benefit, and the echo is then passed on down through succeeding generations.

It is time we factored our children’s children’s children, and their right to quality life on this planet, into the equation of how we live today, in the recognition that the past creates the future. It is women who have the wisdom and biological circuitry to do that consciously.

The seeds we plant in our children today will be harvested in the coming generations, as they carry the baton forward into the future.
