The biomedical model is eroding from underneath because the structure is not strongly based in truth.......it will change....all we need to do is to keep voicing our convictions loudly and without fear.....women are getting the message to stand up for their way of doing it and forego the male-orientated solutions of the mainstream model...see my latest blog about the 'new science' of biomimicry.....Nature knows best after all...... I first heard this concept expressed in your beautifully and eloquently written book, Essence of Woman, (that i want to pass on to my daughters and their friends,) and which in my next reading will be with a highlighter... I recognize that in My own four natural births, (hospital and home births), and my consequent ability to love and consciously parent my children, though not perfectly, but probably pretty well (because they still tell me they are glad I'm their mum and enjoy bringing their friends home), stems from my empowering choice to birth with full conscious awareness, to breast feed exclusively, and to stay home with them as babies, and is my greatest legacy to their future and to the future of the next generation. They have grown up knowing their birth stories and love me to share it with them from time to time. From this perspective, they know that birth is a beautiful, powerful transformation, a gift of empowerment, a rite of passage.
